Highly Efficient I2 Sorption, CO2 Capture, and Catalytic Conversion by Introducing Nitrogen Donor Sites in a Microporous Co(II)-Based Metal-Organic Framework

Zhen-Hua Guo et al.

Summary: The development of porous absorbents for efficient CO2 and I-2 capture has attracted significant attention due to global climate change and environmental issues. A unique porous metal-organic framework (MOF) with exceptional properties for I-2 sorption, CO2 capture, and catalytic conversion has been constructed. This promising material shows high efficiency in removing I-2 and capturing CO2, making it a potential candidate for environmental purification.

A facile fabrication of a multi-functional and hierarchical Zn-based MOF as an efficient catalyst for CO2 fixation at room-temperature

Jianwen Lan et al.

Summary: Carboxyl-containing and amine-rich Zn-MOF was synthesized using a simple stirring method, with the addition of organic amines reducing synthesis time to 2 hours. The hierarchical pores in the obtained Zn-MOF facilitated substrate diffusion and interaction with CO2, resulting in efficient catalysis of CO2 fixation with epoxides. The catalyst showed improved activity compared to traditional Zn-MOF, with a 97% yield of propene carbonate achieved at room temperature.
