Local density of states and particle entanglement in topological quantum fluids

Songyang Pu et al.

Summary: This paper systematically investigates the relation between particle entanglement spectrum (PES) and the local density of states (LDOS) of fractional quantum Hall (FQH) states. The counting of levels in both LDOS and PES can be predicted in the Jain sequence of FQH states through the composite fermion theory. The differences between LDOS and PES characterization of bulk quasihole excitations are pointed out.

Compact unary coding for bosonic states as efficient as conventional binary encoding for fermionic states

Hatem Barghathi et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a unary coding method for bosonic occupation states based on the famous balls and walls counting. By utilizing this coding method, operators that can locally modify the number of bosons can be efficiently applied. By exploiting translational and inversion symmetries, a speedup factor of order L over current methods is identified when generating the basis states of bosonic lattice models. For symmetry resolved entanglement of the ground state, it is demonstrated that variational approaches restricting the local bosonic Hilbert space could lead to an error that scales with system size.

Quantum correlations, entanglement spectrum, and coherence of the two-particle reduced density matrix in the extended Hubbard model

Diego L. B. Ferreira et al.

Summary: We studied the ground state properties of the one-dimensional extended Hubbard model at half filling from the perspective of its particle reduced density matrix. Our analysis of quantum correlations and coherence showed that different properties exhibit complementary behaviors and provide a qualitative view of the model's phase diagram. In particular, we found a transition in the entanglement spectrum signaling a change in the pairing ordering in the superconducting region.

Equivalence of spatial and particle entanglement growth after a quantum quench

Adrian Del Maestro et al.

Summary: The study reveals that in one spatial dimension, fermions exhibit excellent correspondence between the growth of steady state entanglement entropy density under spatial mode or particle bipartition after an interaction quantum quench. This result highlights the applicability of a statistical ensemble in computing expectation values of local observables post quantum quench.

Scaling properties of a spatial one-particle density-matrix entropy in many-body localized systems

Miroslav Hopjan et al.

Summary: The study investigates a spatial subsystem entropy extracted from the one-particle density matrix (OPDM) of one-dimensional disordered interacting fermions that host a many-body localized (MBL) phase. The OPDM entropy exhibits scaling features of localization even though it is only an upper bound to the von Neumann entropy. The OPDM entropy follows an area law in eigenstates and grows logarithmically with time after a quantum quench, with these features surviving even at moderately large interactions and towards the transition into the ergodic phase.

Pairing in spinless fermions and spin chains with next-nearest neighbor interactions

Lorenzo Gotta et al.

Summary: This study investigates the phase diagrams of a one-dimensional lattice model of fermions and a spin chain model with interactions extending up to next-nearest-neighbor range. The analysis reveals a rich collection of phases including Luttinger liquids, phase separation, charge-density waves, and exotic cluster Luttinger liquids with paired particles, showing emergent transition lines with a central charge c = 3/2. These results suggest potential experimental investigations using highly tunable quantum simulators.
