Ultrafast Carrier Dynamics in Wide Band Gap Mixed-Cation Perovskites: Influence of the Cs Cation

Mahmoud M. Elshanawany et al.

Summary: Adding Cs to mixed-cation perovskites improves material quality and stability. Using femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy, it is found that Cs reduces non-radiative recombination sites, increases the lifetime of photogenerated charge carriers, and slows down the cooling of hot carriers through an efficient hot-phonon bottleneck.

Fast A-Site Cation Cross-Exchange at Room Temperature: Single-to Double- and Triple-Cation Halide Perovskite Nanocrystals

Clara Otero-Martinez et al.

Summary: This research reports the fast exchange of A-site cations between perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) made of different A-cations at room temperature. The exchange of A-cations is found to be as fast as the exchange of halide ions. It is shown that the optical properties of perovskite NCs can be finely tuned by the composition of A-cations, and different cations are evenly distributed in the lattice.

Efficient perovskite solar cells via improved carrier management

Jason J. Yoo et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskite solar cells have shown great potential to disrupt the silicon solar cell market with their improved performance, yet still face limitations in light-harvesting due to charge carrier recombination. Efforts to enhance charge carrier management offer a path to increase device performance and approach the theoretical efficiency limit of PSCs.

Mixed formamidinium-methylammonium lead iodide perovskite from first-principles: hydrogen-bonding impact on the electronic properties†

Maximiliano Senno et al.

Summary: This study investigates the structural and electronic properties of mixed A-site cation MA/FA lead iodide perovskites using static first-principles calculations. It reveals the impact of cation mixing on the physics of lead halide perovskites, highlighting the role of hydrogen bonds in stabilizing the structure of hybrid perovskites.
