Economic and environmental evaluation of heat pump-assisted pressure-swing distillation of maximum-boiling azeotropic mixture water-ethylenediamine

Mariem Ferchichi et al.

Summary: Different options to reduce energy demand in pressure-swing distillation for separating azeotropic mixture are studied. The optimized partial heat integration (PHI) is the most cost-effective option, reducing total annualized cost by 23.7%. Heat pump-assisted processes have lower environmental impact.

The solubility calculation of methane and acidic gases in associating solvents by a predictive approach using Henry?s law together with SRK and CPA equation of states

Elahe Mansouri et al.

Summary: In this study, binary interaction parameters (BIPs) between solutes and solvents were calculated and applied to predict the solubility of gases in different associating solvents. The cubic-plus-association (CPA) equation of state (EoS) outperformed the Soave-Redlich-Kwong (SRK) EoS in predicting solubility, with a lower average relative deviation. Additionally, a linear or quadratic relationship was observed between the obtained BIPs and temperature.

An extensive thermodynamic study on amino acids aqueous solutions and their CO2 solubility by taking into account dipolar and quadrupolar contributions

Kazem Lakzian et al.

Summary: Amino acids are important biological components that form zwitterions in water, with practical applications in aqueous solutions. Understanding the thermodynamic behavior of amino acid solutions is crucial for modeling and optimizing processes. This study investigates the contributions of different interactions in amino acid solutions and proposes a thermodynamic model that considers these interactions for accurate predictions.
