The optical characteristics of pomegranate dye were investigated and it was found to have absorption properties in the visible range, making it suitable for energy conversion through light harvesting.
The optical characteristics of the pomegranate dye were performed using analytical techniques including transmittance and photoluminescence spectroscopies. Pomegranate dye has shown to absorb in visible range from 400 nm to 550 nm. Strong luminescence of 1.2E6 CPS at 546 nm has been observed. Anthocyanin-containing pomegranates have been found to be a good light-harvesting pigment for creating charge carriers for energy production. Copyright (C) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
