This study investigated the clinical effect of ultrasound technology combined with minimally invasive root canal surgery in patients with pulpitis. The results showed that this method can improve the chewing function of patients, shorten the anesthesia time, effectively relieve pain, and has a high level of safety.
Introduction: Minimally invasive endodontics is the precise opening of the pulp by preserving part of the roof of the medullary ventricle and peri-cervical dentin. We aimed to explore the clinical effect of minimally invasive root canal surgery combined with ultrasound technology in patients with pulpitis. Materials and methods: Eighty patients with pulpitis admitted to our hospital from July 2019 to December 2019 were divided into a control group of 40 cases and a study group of 40 cases using a random number table method. The patients in the control group were treated with conventional root canal treatment, and those in the study group were treated with ultrasound technology combined with minimally invasive root canal surgery. The clinical effects, language function, chewing function, pain degree before and after treatment, anesthesia time, treatment time, and postoperative complications between the two groups of patients were compared. Results: The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group. There was no significant difference in Eichner score, mastication efficiency, and visual analogue scale (VAS) scores between the two groups before treatment. After treatment, Eichner score still showed no significance while mastication efficiency was higher in the study group than that in the control group, and the VAS score in the study group was lower than that in the control group. The anesthesia time was shorter, the treatment time was longer, and the incidence of complications was lower in the study group than the control group. Conclusion: Ultrasound technology combined with minimally invasive root canal surgery has a good effect for patients with pulpitis. It can improve the chewing function of patients, shorten the anesthesia time, and effectively relieve pain, with high safety.
