A valuable strategy to improve ferroelectric performance significantly via metallic ion doping in the lattice nodes of metal-organic frameworks

Jingjing Liang et al.

Summary: A series of mixed-metal MOFs, derived from Mg2+ ions doped into the lattice nodes of the parent-MOF (Ni-MOF), were synthesized in this study. The doped-MOFs (Mg/Ni-MOFs) exhibited significant lattice distortion and dipole asymmetry, leading to a remarkable enhancement of ferroelectricity compared to the parent-MOF. This research provides new possibilities for controlling ferroelectric performance in MOF-based ferroelectrics.
