Size effects on the formation of LaAlO3 phase in La-doped ?-Al2O3 after hydrothermal treatment

Vladimir O. Stoyanovskii et al.

Summary: La-doped alumina ceramics were prepared using a strong electrostatic adsorption technique and compared with a conventional wet impregnation method. The interaction between alumina and lanthanum affected the stability of alumina and the resistance of La2O3 towards agglomeration. The formation of LaAlO3 with a size of approximately 10 nm was observed. The commercial La-doped alumina sample and the sample prepared by wetness impregnation showed increased particle size and the formation of LaAlO3 after high-temperature calcination. In contrast, the samples prepared by the adsorption of La(EDTA)- complexes did not show the formation of LaAlO3 before or after hydrothermal treatment.

Elucidation of Active Sites for CH4 Catalytic Oxidation over Pd/CeO2 Via Tailoring Metal-Support Interactions

Shiyuan Chen et al.

Summary: The structure of PdOx nanoparticles loaded on CeO2 nanocrystals of different shapes was systematically studied using Cs-corrected HRTEM/STEM, XPS, and Raman spectroscopy. The active sites for methane catalytic oxidation were found to be morphology-dependent on the CeO2 supports, with Pd2+ species identified as the active centers. Additionally, the chemical states of Pd can be tuned through interactions with CeO2 in oxidizing/reducing atmospheres.

Interface dynamics of Pd-CeO2 single-atom catalysts during CO oxidation

Valery Muravev et al.

Summary: In this study, two Pd/CeO2 single-atom catalysts for low-temperature CO oxidation were compared, revealing the impact of preparation method on their stability. Detailed in situ characterization linked the stability of the Pd single atoms to the properties of the Pd-CeO2 interface. Understanding such metal-support interactions is crucial for the rational design of stable single-atom catalysts.

Real-time observation of the effect of oxygen storage materials on Pd-based three-way catalysts under ideal automobile exhaust conditions: an operando study

Hiroyuki Asakura et al.

Summary: The dynamic behavior of Pd species and the CeO2 support in 1 wt% Pd/Al2O3 and Pd/CeO2 catalysts during three-way catalysis was studied in real time. The study demonstrated the anchoring effect of CeO2 on active metal species, as well as the oxygen storage/release effect and NO reduction ability of CeO2.
