Development of a Cryogenic Tester with Air Bearing to Test Sliding-Rolling Contact Friction

Fengbo Liu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to test the friction coefficient of cryogenic bearing lubrication materials using a developed ball-on-disc type friction tester with air bearings. The results showed that the friction coefficient curves of the tested coatings agreed well with the Gupta sliding model. The developed tester will provide important data for the analysis and evaluation of cryogenic bearings.
