Catalytic Performance and Electrophoretic Behavior of an Yttrium-Organic Framework Based on a Tricarboxylic Asymmetric Alkyne

Juana M. Perez et al.

Summary: A new Y-based metal-organic framework (MOF) with high catalytic activity and unique electrophoretic behavior has been synthesized in this study. The material shows excellent catalytic activity in the cyanosilylation of carbonyls with low catalyst loading. Furthermore, detailed electrophoretic studies reveal stable zero-charge point and peak electrophoretic mobility under specific conditions.

Incorporating heterogeneous lacunary Keggin anions as efficient catalysts for solvent-free cyanosilylation of aldehydes and ketones

Masoume Malmir et al.

Summary: Polyoxometalates (POMs) are efficient catalysts that can be used for a wide range of chemical transformations. In this study, two hybrid and heterogeneous Keggin catalysts, TBA-PW11 and TBA-SiW11, were reported. The catalytic performance of these catalysts was tested in the cyanosilylation reaction under solvent-free conditions. TBA-PW11 showed better catalytic efficiency than TBA-SiW11, possibly due to its higher Lewis acidity and easier accessibility of metal centers. The recyclability and heterogeneity of both catalysts were also examined, and they remained active after at least three recycling procedures.

Non-noble MNP@MOF materials: synthesis and applications in heterogeneous catalysis

Nejat Redwan Habib et al.

Summary: Transition metals play a crucial role in heterogeneous catalysis, with noble and precious metals being widely used in this field. While noble metals offer significant advantages, utilizing Earth abundant metals presents a sustainable alternative. Loading metals into highly porous materials, such as MOFs, can enhance catalytic reactions and overcome instability issues.

An uncoordinated tertiary nitrogen based tricarboxylate calcium network with Lewis acid-base dual catalytic sites for cyanosilylation of aldehydes

Ying-Xia Wang et al.

Summary: By selecting an uncoordinated tertiary nitrogen based tricarboxylic ligand, a new calcium-based metal-organic framework with accessible dual catalytic sites has been designed and synthesized to efficiently catalyze the cyanosilylation of aldehydes at room temperature. This catalyst shows excellent reusability and turnover number, outperforming most reported cases, and also demonstrates CO2 adsorption and epoxide conversion capabilities, contributing to the establishment of a sustainable society.
