Rational Design of Covalent Heptazine Frameworks with Spatially Separated Redox Centers for High-Efficiency Photocatalytic Hydrogen Peroxide Production

Summary: This study focuses on designing new covalent heptazine frameworks with spatially separated redox centers for efficient photocatalytic production of H2O2. Both experimental and computational investigations support the critical role of this unique spatial separation feature in enhancing charge separation and achieving efficient H2O2 production. The rationally designed CHFs show a solar-to-chemical conversion efficiency of 0.78% under simulated solar irradiation, surpassing previously reported photocatalytic materials.

Rapid, Ordered Polymerization of Crystalline Semiconducting Covalent Triazine Frameworks

Summary: This study successfully demonstrated a rapid synthetic method for crystalline CTFs and revealed their polymerization mechanism. Photocatalytic studies with CTFs of different crystallinity showed that large crystalline domains can significantly enhance catalytic performance. Moreover, single-layer and few-layer crystalline 2D triazine polymer nanosheets can be obtained through simple ball-milling exfoliation, leading to nearly fivefold improvement in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate.

Molecularly Engineered Covalent Organic Frameworks for Hydrogen Peroxide Photosynthesis

A Crystalline Partially Fluorinated Triazine Covalent Organic Framework for Efficient Photosynthesis of Hydrogen Peroxide

Summary: The TF50-COF catalyst, a partially fluorinated, metal-free, imine-linked two-dimensional triazine covalent organic framework, demonstrates high selectivity and stability in O-2 photoreduction into H2O2. By varying the proportion of fluorine substitution, the catalyst maximizes interlayer interactions, improves crystallinity, accelerates carrier transfer, and enhances photostability. The catalyst achieves a high H2O2 yield rate of 1739 mu mol h(-1) g(-1) and an apparent quantum efficiency of 5.1 % at 400 nm, surpassing the performance of previously reported nonmetal COF-based photocatalysts.
