Local diffusion indicators: A new tool for analysis of electrochemical mass transport

Joseph R. Elliott et al.

Summary: This article introduces a diffusion indicator for characterizing the diffusion property of different parts of a non-uniformly accessible electrode after electrochemical perturbation. It provides both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the diffusion to the electrode surface at different time points. The study evaluates the contributions of thin layer, linear, and convergent diffusion using a truncated sphere on a plane surface, and compares the results with measurements on a micro-disc electrode. The findings have implications for understanding the impact of nanoparticles on planar electrodes and hanging mercury drop electrodes.
