On a class of skew constacyclic codes over mixed alphabets and applications in constructing optimal and quantum codes

Hai Q. Dinh et al.

Summary: In this paper, the authors first discuss linear codes over R and present the decomposition structure of linear codes over the mixed alphabet FqR. Then, skew (theta, Theta)-(lambda,Gamma)-constacyclic codes over FqR are studied and their dual codes are classified. The authors also construct a Gray map over FqR and study the Gray images of skew (theta, Theta)-(lambda,Gamma)-constacyclic codes. Many good codes, including optimal codes and near-optimal codes, are constructed, and the advantages of using skew cyclic codes in the construction of quantum error-correcting codes (QECCs) are discussed.

A family of constacyclic codes over a class of non-chain rings Aq,r and new quantum codes

Habibul Islam et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on constacyclic and skew constacyclic codes over a class of finite commutative non-chain rings, deriving necessary and sufficient conditions for them to contain their Hermitian duals and constructing MDS and new quantum codes with better parameters by applying the Hermitian construction on the Gray images of dual containing codes.

NEW QUANTUM CODES FROM SKEW CONSTACYCLIC CODES

Ram Krishna Verma et al.

Summary: The paper focuses on constructing quantum codes from skew constacyclic codes over R`,m, discussing their structures and determining their Euclidean dual codes. A relation between these codes and their Euclidean duals is obtained, and with the help of a duality-preserving Gray map and the CSS construction, many MDS and better non-binary quantum codes are obtained as compared to the best-known quantum codes available in the literature.
