A One-Point Exponential Trimming Technique for an Effective Suppression of Process Spread in BJT-based Temperature Processing Circuits

Antonio Aprile et al.

Summary: This paper presents a trimming technique to suppress the thermal effects of process spread of BJT-based temperature processing circuits. The proposed method requires a single temperature reading and compensates for the spread of thermal behavior of bipolar transistors. The effectiveness of the technique is improved through an exponential approach in the design of the trimming structure.

A Compact 2.5-nJ Energy/Conversion NPN-Based Temperature-to-Digital Converter with a Fully Current-Mode Processing Architecture

Antonio Aprile et al.

Summary: This paper presents a NPN-based Temperature-to-Digital Converter (TDC) designed for compensating the thermal drift of MEMS devices. The circuit, utilizing a fully current-mode processing architecture, is fabricated in a standard 180-nm CMOS technology, with a compact silicon area and low energy consumption. The TDC demonstrates high resolution and low inaccuracy.
