This study examined the association between Barrett's esophagus (BE) and esophageal adenocarcinoma. BE was found to be a potential precursor to esophageal cancer. However, the effectiveness of BE screening remains uncertain due to the fact that over 90% of esophageal cancer patients do not have a history of BE.
