Mechanical property of polymer composites reinforced with nanomaterials

Tao-Hsing Chen et al.

Summary: Addition of aerographite nanomaterials to NC-826 epoxy resin suppressed crack propagation and improved mechanical properties compared to pure resin samples. Additionally, using MWCNTs as reinforcement materials resulted in a small improvement in the mechanical properties of the samples at the same compression strain rates.

Cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) produced by different mechanical methods to improve mechanical properties of recycled paper

Fugang Hu et al.

Summary: The morphology and length of cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) have a significant impact on their reinforcement effect in recycled paper, with higher aspect ratios leading to better reinforcement. CNFs produced by microfluidic homogenization and suitable PFI milling conditions showed the best reinforced effect, improving tensile index and burst index significantly. This study aimed to investigate the influence of CNFs on reinforcing recycled fibers.

Cellulose nanocrystal extraction from rice straw using a chlorine-free bleaching process

Shih-Chen Shi et al.

Summary: Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) have excellent properties and can be extracted from agricultural by-products, achieving high purity through specific processing techniques. This study successfully increased the yield using a green bleaching process and UV-emitting diode-assisted oxidation reaction.

Effects of Cu Addition on Mechanical Behaviour, Microstructural Evolution and Anti-Corrosion Performance of TiAl-Based Intermetallic Alloy under Different Strain Rates

Cheng-Hsien Kuo et al.

Summary: The TiAl-based intermetallic alloys with 3-5% Cu concentration exhibit significant changes in mechanical properties and ductility, with the 4% Cu content showing the best anti-corrosion performance. The favorable properties of the TiAlCu4 sample stem mainly from the low γ phase content of the microstructure and the high α(2) phase content.
