Causality violations in realistic simulations of heavy-ion collisions

Christopher Plumberg et al.

Summary: Causality is violated in the early stages of state-of-the-art heavy-ion hydrodynamic simulations, but the number of cells that are definitely causal increases as the evolution progresses. The inclusion of pre-equilibrium evolution significantly reduces the number of acausal cells. Relativistic causality may place constraints on the available parameter space of heavy-ion collision simulations when factored into more thorough statistical analyses.

Cluster and hypercluster production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions within the parton-hadron-quantum-molecular-dynamics approach

Susanne Glaessel et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the production of clusters and hypernuclei in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using the PHQMD approach. The PHQMD model allows for the dynamic formation of clusters and the investigation of their time evolution. The results are compared with experimental data and provide important insights into the puzzle of ice in fire phenomenon observed in heavy-ion collisions.

Nonlinear Constraints on Relativistic Fluids Far from Equilibrium

Fabio S. Bemfica et al.

Summary: New constraints have been identified for Israel-Stewart-like theories of fluid dynamics to be causal far from equilibrium. Sufficient conditions have also been presented to ensure causality, local existence, and uniqueness of solutions in these theories. The findings provide fundamental constraints on the magnitude of viscous corrections in fluid dynamics far from equilibrium, without simplifying symmetry or near-equilibrium assumptions.

Deuteron production in relativistic heavy ion collisions via stochastic multiparticle reactions

J. Staudenmaier et al.

Summary: In this study, deuteron production via deuteron pion and nucleon catalysis reactions is investigated using stochastic multiparticle reactions for the first time. The impact of multiparticle collisions on the time required for deuterons to reach partial chemical equilibrium with nucleons is analyzed, showing a substantial reduction. Additionally, the final yield of deuterons is found to be practically independent from the number of deuterons at particlization, confirming previous study results.

Modified equilibrium distributions for Cooper-Frye particlization

M. McNelis et al.

Summary: We introduce a positive-definite single-particle distribution suitable for describing the transition from macroscopic hydrodynamic to microscopic kinetic description during late-stage heavy-ion collisions with moderately large viscous corrections. The modified equilibrium distribution significantly improves upon customary linearized approximations for nonequilibrium corrections, avoiding unphysical negative distribution functions at high particle momenta.

Exploring theoretical uncertainties in the hydrodynamic description of relativistic heavy-ion collisions

Cheng Chiu et al.

Summary: The study explores theoretical uncertainties in the hydrodynamic description of relativistic heavy-ion collisions by examining the full nonlinear causality conditions and quantifying the role of second-order transport coefficients in flow observables. The causality conditions impose physical constraints on the maximum allowed values of inverse Reynolds numbers during the hydrodynamic evolution. While flow observables variations in Au+Au collisions are small with and without imposing causality conditions, significant sensitivity is observed in small p+Au collisions, posing challenges for studying the collectivity of small systems.

Deuteron production in AuAu collisions at √sNN=7-200 GeV via pion catalysis

D. Oliinychenko et al.

Summary: Deuteron production in central AuAu collisions was studied using simulations, showing good agreement with measured proton, lambda, and deuteron transverse momentum spectra and yields. An explanation for the energy dependence of the coalescence parameter B-2 and differences between deuterons and antideuterons was provided.

Multisystem Bayesian constraints on the transport coefficients of QCD matter

D. Everett et al.

Summary: By combining different modules, we studied the properties of strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma. Our research emphasizes the importance of validation process and the constraints and sensitivity of experimental data on the viscosity of quark-gluon plasma. We also explored the impact of different model parameters on observational results.
