Empirical Evaluation of Moving Target Selection in Virtual Reality Using Egocentric Metaphors

Yuan Chen et al.

Summary: This study compares the characteristics of virtual hand and pointer metaphors for moving target acquisition, finding that depth has a significant impact on both. By designing a reach-bounded Go-Go technique to address challenges of virtual hand, the study also highlights the importance of target width and speed as determinants of user performance in selecting moving targets.
