Multicritical point and unified description of broken-symmetry phases in spin-1/2 antiferromagnets on a square lattice

Oguz Turker et al.

Summary: In this study, we demonstrate that several distinct broken-symmetry phases in a spin-1/2 antiferromagnet can be accessed by perturbing a multicritical point. This provides a unified description of these phases and their phase transitions. Additionally, our analysis supports the recently proposed fermion-boson duality and discusses its relation to the long-sought deconfined criticality in such systems.

Chern-Simons superconductors and their instabilities

Rui Wang et al.

Summary: This study develops a method to describe quantum antiferromagnets using fermionic degrees of freedom and establishes qualitative and quantitative correspondences between antiferromagnetic materials and Chern-Simons superconductors. The research finds that such a construction using fractionalized excitations and Chern-Simons gauge field can not only describe the Neel order, but can also be applied to study quantum spin liquids.

Emergent Kondo Behavior from Gauge Fluctuations in Spin Liquids

Rui Wang et al.

Summary: A new type of nonmagnetic Kondo behavior generated by gauge fluctuations in strongly correlated baths has been discovered, revealing an asymmetric Kondo fixed point at low energy and displaying a nonmonotonous temperature dependence of thermal conductivity as well as anisotropic pseudospin correlation. This Kondo phenomenon, originating from gauge fluctuations, can be promising indicators for identifying quantum spin liquids.

Abelian SU(N)1 chiral spin liquids on the square lattice

Ji-Yao Chen et al.

Summary: In the physics of the fractional quantum Hall effect, a method is proposed to search for topological SU(N)1 chiral spin liquids in spin systems, with unambiguous signatures of the SU(N)1 character of the chiral liquids obtained through various numerical methods. Quantum phase diagram and chiral spin liquid in the extended spin-1/2 honeycomb XY model

Yixuan Huang et al.

Summary: In this paper, we investigated the frustrated XY model on the honeycomb lattice and demonstrated the emergence of the Kalmeyer-Laughlin CSL due to the interplay of magnetic frustration and chiral interactions. This nonmagnetic CSL is characterized by specific features such as scalar chiral order and chiral entanglement spectrum, described by chiral SU(2)(1) conformal field theory.
