Affleck-Dine Leptogenesis from Higgs Inflation

Neil D. Barrie et al.

Summary: This study finds that the triplet Higgs can explain the neutrino masses, observed baryon asymmetry, and inflation simultaneously, and can be tested in upcoming experiments. This simple framework provides a unified solution to the three major unknowns in modern physics.

Implication of the W boson mass anomaly at CDF II in the Higgs triplet model with a mass difference

Shinya Kanemura et al.

Summary: A new report from the CDF II experiment shows a significant deviation in the measured mass of the W boson compared to the standard model prediction. While other high energy experiments have consistent results, the possibility of explaining this anomaly using the Higgs triplet model is discussed.

Road map through the desert with scalars

Ubaldo Cavazos Olivas et al.

Summary: In this study, we comprehensively analyze the extensions of the Standard Model with vector-like fermions and scalars in the context of gauge coupling unification. We identify 145 models that satisfy the unification condition, distinguishable by the number of new particles in the spectrum and their transformation properties under the gauge symmetry group. Lower bounds on the exotic fermion and scalar masses are derived for all models based on measurements of the strong gauge coupling scale dependence, searches for heavy stable charged particles, and electroweak precision tests. The potential of testing these unification scenarios at future colliders and proton decay experiments is also discussed, with some models already excluded based on current data while others will be probed in the years to come.

Revisiting type-II see-saw: present limits and future prospects at LHC

Saiyad Ashanujjaman et al.

Summary: This paper provides a natural explanation for the smallness of neutrino masses through the type-II see-saw mechanism based on the annexation of the Standard Model by weak gauge triplet scalar field. By studying the phenomenology of the non-degenerate triplet Higgs spectrum, the authors derive the most stringent lower limits on the mass of the doubly charged scalar for a wide model parameter space. These limits are stronger than those reported by previous direct collider searches and a specific region of parameter space beyond the reach of current LHC search strategies is also identified. Future limits are forecasted by extending an ATLAS search and an improved search strategy is proposed for a portion of the parameter space.

Isotope dependence of muon-to-electron conversion

Julian Heeck et al.

Summary: The lepton-flavor-violating conversion of a muon into an electron in the field of a nucleus is a sensitive probe of physics beyond the Standard Model. The experiments Mu2e, COMET, and DeeMe will explore uncharted terrain in this area. This study provides conversion rates for all stable isotopes and estimates nuclear-structure uncertainties, enabling studies of mixed or enriched target materials to distinguish different scenarios of muon conversion on protons or neutrons.

Higgs physics confronts the MWanomaly

W boson mass anomaly and grand unification

Jason L. Evans et al.

Summary: The recently reported shift of the W boson mass can be explained by an SU(2)(L) triplet Higgs boson with zero hypercharge and a vacuum expectation value (VEV) of O(1) GeV. Adding a TeV scale complex triplet Higgs boson to the standard model (SM) leads to a precise unification of gauge couplings at around 10^(14) GeV. This is a consequence of SU(5) grand unification, and it shows the potential for the Higgs fields to yield a weak scale complex SU(2) triplet scalar boson. The proton decay constraint can be avoided by introducing vector-like fermions that mix with the SM fermions.

Constraining scalar doublet and triplet leptoquarks with vacuum stability and perturbativity

Priyotosh Bandyopadhyay et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the constraints on the leptoquark Yukawa couplings and the Higgs-leptoquark quartic couplings for different types of leptoquarks. The results show that the leptoquark Yukawa couplings have an upper bound to respect the stability of the Higgs vacuum at the Planck scale, while the Higgs-leptoquark quartic couplings have severe constraints to protect the perturbativity at the Planck scale.
