This essay analyzes two works from Pasolini's latest collection, La nuova gioventu. In both works, the author uses a stylization of his own poetic voice that creates an effect that introduces mythological masks, such as Oedipus or Socrates. These characters are asked to express the uselessness of the knowledge that the author himself has accumulated. These two texts can constitute a framework within which to include the ideological and psychological position present in the last stage of Pasolini's work.
