This paper proposes the design and analysis of an ultrathin frequency selective surface (FSS) based quad-band nearly perfect metamaterial absorber, which offers wide angular stability and polarization insensitivity.
Design and analysis of an ultrathin frequency selective surface (FSS) based quad-band nearly perfect metamaterial absorber has been proposed in this paper. The proposed FSS absorber is capable to offer a wide angular stability along with polarization insensitivity. It can absorb the incident electromagnetic waves with absorptivity greater than 95% at four different center frequencies 3.63 GHz, 5.83 GHz, 9.11 GHz and 12.13 GHz respectively. The designed unit cell structure is compact with less than lambda/4 which confirm the homogeneous medium to the incident wave.
