Data analysis from multiple epidemics in Hong Kong demonstrated that the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant has a shorter serial interval and generation time compared to earlier strains. The age-specific case-fatality risk for Omicron BA.2.2 case-patients without complete primary vaccination was similar to that of individuals infected with ancestral strains in earlier waves.
