Preparation of Nano-Cu-Fe Composite Metal Oxides via a Mechanical Grinding Method and Its Catalytic Performance for the Thermal Decomposition of Ammonium Perchlorate

Gazi Hao et al.

Summary: The study synthesized a series of nano-Cu-Fe composite metal oxides with different molar ratios and found that the ratio of 1:2 exhibited the best catalytic effect on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate. This ratio significantly increased the decomposition temperature and heat of AP, indicating the existence of a synergistic effect between CuO and Fe2O3 nanoparticles.

Mesoscience in supported nano-metal catalysts based on molecular thermodynamic modeling: A mini review and perspective

Nanhua Wu et al.

Summary: This study summarized the research progress of supported nano-metal catalysts, addressing the trade-off between activity and stability with the principle of compromise in competition. By focusing on direct H2O2 synthesis as a typical case, mechanism A (activity) and mechanism B (stability) were identified and discussed.

Significantly Enhanced Thermal Decomposition of Mechanically Activated Ammonium Perchlorate Coupling with Nano Copper Chromite

Dongdong Zhang et al.

Summary: The nano-CuCr2O4/ultrafine ammonium perchlorate composites were prepared using a mechanical ball milling method, showing improved catalytic effect on the thermal decomposition of ultrafine AP. When ball milled for 6-12 hours, nano-CuCr2O4 was most evenly dispersed on the ultrafine AP, leading to lower decomposition temperature and Gibbs free energy compared to ultrafine AP. This study demonstrated the effectiveness of ball milling in enhancing the catalytic properties of nano-CuCr2O4 on ultrafine AP.
