Synthesis and characterization of bimetallic TiO2/CNT/Pd-Cu for efficient remediation of endocrine disruptors under solar light

Maria Patricia de la Flor et al.

Summary: Metal and bimetal doped TiO2 supported on CNT hybrids were successfully synthesized in supercritical CO2 medium and exhibited improved solar light photocatalytic efficiency for the degradation of endocrine disruptors. Bimetallic TiO2/CNT/Pd-Cu showed higher removal efficiency and stability compared to commercial P25 and monometal-doped samples.

V-doped TiO2 photocatalysts and their application to pollutant degradation

Lucia Rossi et al.

Summary: V-doped TiO2 materials prepared with 0.01% vanadium showed the best photocatalytic performance, reaching 100% degradation of phenol under UV irradiation and 30% under visible light. The catalyst also demonstrated good efficiency in degrading structurally related compounds like 4-chlorophenol and 4-nitrophenol. Additionally, the selectivity of the catalyst for phenol degradation in the presence of humic acid was also satisfactory, indicating promising potential for further applications.

Design and performance evaluation of a photocatalytic reactor for indoor air disinfection

Silvia Mercedes Zacarias et al.

Summary: A photocatalytic device for removing airborne microorganisms was developed and tested in this study, showing complete removal of high loads of microorganisms in the air stream in just 1 hour. However, longer irradiation periods were required for inactivating retained bacteria in the reactor bed. Efficiency parameters were calculated to evaluate the influence of irradiation conditions on photocatalytic inactivation of bacteria attached to the coated rings.

Surface modification of TiO2 with Pd nanoparticles for enhanced photocatalytic oxidation of benzene micropollutants

Dmitry Selishchev et al.

Summary: This paper presents a simple method for preparing a highly active photocatalyst for benzene oxidation by modifying TiO2 surface with palladium. The photodecomposition of Pd(OAc)(2) enhances the catalytic activity of Pd nanoparticles loaded onto TiO2, leading to increased efficiency in benzene vapor oxidation.
