Photoluminescence and electrochemiluminescence of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters containing diphenylphosphine chalcogenide-substituted carbazole donors

Shiv Kumar et al.

Summary: In order to develop efficient blue-emitting TADF compounds, derivatives of 2CzPN with electron-accepting groups were synthesized. The results showed that these derivatives shifted the emission wavelength towards blue in polar solvents and matrices. Electrochemiluminescence experiments revealed that some of these derivatives exhibited an unprecedented delayed onset and long emission times, which suggest an organic long-persistent electrochemiluminescence mechanism.

Polymer Electrochemiluminescence Featuring Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence

Ping Huang et al.

Summary: ECL based on a TADF polymer scaffold shows potential for achieving close to 100% ECL efficiency due to all-exciton harvesting and efficient up-conversion from non-radiative triplet to radiative singlet states under thermal activation. This TADF polymer system exhibits different ECL modes and shows promise for ultralow detection limits and high sensitivity in solid-state ECL sensing applications.

High-resolution imaging of catalytic activity of a single graphene sheet using electrochemiluminescence microscopy

Hui Zhu et al.

Summary: By mapping the electrocatalytic activity of a single graphene sheet with nanometer resolution using electrochemiluminescence (ECL) microscopy, this study effectively avoids the problem of overlapping ECL emissions from adjacent regions and achieves nanometer spatial resolution for the first time. The varied adsorption of hydrogen peroxide on the graphene surface leads to unsynchronized ECL emission, allowing the ECL intensity of each pixel to reflect the electrocatalytic features of the graphene surface with a resolution of 400 nm.
