Distributed Resource Allocation Optimization for User-Centric Cell-Free MIMO Networks

Hussein A. Ammar et al.

Summary: This paper introduces two distributed downlink resource allocation algorithms for user-centric, cell-free, spatially-distributed, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) networks. Experimental results show that the CU-distributed system provides 1.3- to 1.8-fold network throughput compared to the DU-distributed system, with minor increases in complexity and front-haul load, and substantial gains over benchmark schemes.

User-Centric Access Point Selection in Cell-Free Massive MIMO Systems: A Game-Theoretic Approach

Chen Wei et al.

Summary: In this paper, we investigate the problem of user-centric access point (AP) selection for cell-free massive MIMO systems. We employ game theory to model the AP service cluster formation as a local altruistic game and propose an improved concurrent spatial adaptive play algorithm to achieve the optimal solution. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing algorithms in terms of convergence speed, highlighting the superiority of the game-theoretic AP selection method.

Graph Neural Network Based Access Point Selection for Cell-Free Massive MIMO Systems

Vismika Ranasinghe et al.

Summary: This study proposes a graph neural network based access point selection algorithm for cell-free massive MIMO systems. Two types of graphs are constructed to represent the network structure, and a GNN is used to obtain embeddings and predict connections between nodes. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm predicts potential APs more accurately compared to traditional algorithms and does not require signal strength measurements of neighboring APs.
