Plasma-enhanced fluorination of multi-walled carbon nanotubes for CFx cathode materials with ultrahigh electrochemical performance

H. P. Zhou et al.

Summary: Lithium/fluorinated carbon (Li/CFx) batteries are highly promising due to their high energy density, long shelf life, and wide operating temperature. However, achieving high capacity and excellent rate-capability for CFx cathode materials remains challenging. In this study, an efficient and safe synthesis approach was developed, resulting in plasma fluorinated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (PFCNTs) with excellent electronic and electrochemical properties.

A MOF-derived multifunctional nano-porous fluorinated carbon for high performance lithium/fluorinated carbon primary batteries

Xiutao Li et al.

Summary: In this study, a new type of fluorinated carbon was developed using Cr-MOF as a precursor via direct F-2 fluorination method, exhibiting a high energy density of 2110.7 W.h kg(-1) and maximum power density of 6540 W kg(-1) at different temperatures. The fluorinated carbon cathodes derived from MOF show an anti-swelling function with volume expansion not exceeding 12%, providing a new approach for designing advanced multifunctional fluorinated carbons.

Perovskite solar cells with atomically coherent interlayers on SnO2 electrodes

Hanul Min et al.

Summary: By introducing an interlayer between the electron-transporting and perovskite layers in perovskite solar cells, researchers have successfully enhanced charge extraction and transport from the perovskite, leading to higher power conversion efficiency and fewer interfacial defects. The coherent interlayer allowed the fabrication of devices with a certified efficiency of 25.5%, which maintained about 90% of its initial efficiency even after continuous light exposure for 500 hours. The findings provide guidelines for designing defect-minimizing interfaces in metal halide perovskites and electron-transporting layers.

Tune the Fluorescence and Electrochemiluminescence of Graphitic Carbon Nitride Nanosheets by Controlling the Defect States

Yajie Jiao et al.

Summary: The effects of defect states on the fluorescence and electrochemiluminescence properties of graphite phase carbon nitride were systematically investigated for the first time. The study found that decreasing the density of defect states can increase the fluorescence quantum yield, while increasing the density of defect states can make the fluorescence spectra red shift. Additionally, increasing the density of CN-defect states and decreasing the density of C-defect states are important to improve the electrochemiluminescence activity.
