A label-free PEC aptasensor platform based on g-C3N4/BiVO4 heterojunction for tetracycline detection in food analysis

Zhengzheng Zhao et al.

Summary: A simple, low-cost label-free photoelectrochemical biosensing platform based on red blood cell shaped BiVO4 modified g-C3N4 was designed and demonstrated for tetracycline detection. The prepared g-C3N4/BiVO4 heterojunction showed high surface area, excellent stability, and favorable PEC activity. It also served as a nanostructure support for aptamers to construct a visible-light-driven PEC aptasensor. The proposed PEC aptasensor exhibited a favorable linear response to tetracycline and met the detection requirements of food standards. Practical food sample analysis confirmed the accuracy and feasibility of the g-C3N4/BiVO4 heterostructure based PEC platform. This label-free and cost-effective PEC strategy holds great promise for tetracycline determination in food quality control and supervision.

A turn on colorimetric system based on bimetallic UiO-66(Zr/Ce) for rapid sensing of tetracyclines through visible light triggering

Chaoting Shi et al.

Summary: A novel colorimetric system based on UiO-66(Zr/Ce) was constructed for rapid sensing of tetracyclines through visible light triggering. The construction of this system was simplified without H2O2 addition and probe modification, making it more economical and milder with visible light triggering. The system demonstrated a much faster visual naked-eye detection of tetracyclines within 2 minutes, nearly 5-45 times shorter than reported methods, and showed potential for field or online monitoring of tetracyclines.

Oxygen vacancy-regulated TiO2 nanotube photoelectrochemical sensor for highly sensitive and selective detection of tetracycline hydrochloride

Hong Cui et al.

Summary: Investigation into the mechanism of oxygen vacancy-regulated photoelectrochemical sensors for highly sensitive and selective detection of biomolecules with electron-donating groups is an innovative research field. This study synthesized oxygen vacancy-regulated TiO2 nanotube arrays with high photoelectrochemical activity and applied them to detect tetracycline hydrochloride. The synergistic effect of oxygen vacancies and Ti3+ in the nanotube arrays led to increased generation of photogenerated carriers, while the adsorption of tetracycline hydrochloride consumed the oxygen vacancies and decreased the photocurrent response of the sensor. The sensor showed excellent linearity in the range of 0.1-1000 nM and high selectivity for tetracycline hydrochloride determination.
