Hepatitis B

Wen-Juei Jeng et al.

Summary: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a significant global public health problem, with a large number of chronic infections and deaths reported every year. Diagnosis of HBV infection requires serological testing for specific antibodies. Treatment mainly focuses on preventing liver disease progression and development of complications. Efforts are being made to develop new therapies that aim for a functional cure, while prevention strategies include universal vaccination and improved screening and diagnosis. Achieving the goal of eliminating HBV infection by 2030 requires a comprehensive approach.

Electrochemiluminescence Biosensor for Hyaluronidase Based on the Adjustable Electrostatic Interaction between the Surface-Charge-Controllable Nanoparticles and Negatively Charged Electrode

Zhixin Li et al.

Summary: A novel electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor for the detection of hyaluronidase has been developed based on adjustable electrostatic interactions. It utilizes negatively charged nanoparticles that exhibit strong electrostatic repulsion with a negatively charged electrode, resulting in low-intensity ECL signal. In the presence of hyaluronidase, the nanoparticles undergo a decomposition process, leading to the generation of positively charged nanoparticles with enhanced ECL signal through electrostatic attraction. The biosensor shows a linear relationship between ECL and hyaluronidase concentration, with a detection limit of 0.37 U/mL.
