Continuous-Flow Synthesis of (R)-Tamsulosin Utilizing Sequential Heterogeneous Catalysis

Yuki Saito et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the continuous-flow synthesis of (R)-tamsulosin without the need for the isolation or purification of any intermediates or byproducts. The synthesis was achieved through four catalytic transformations in a flow stream, resulting in a high yield and enantiomeric excess.

N-Dimethylation and N-Functionalization of Amines Using Ru Nanoparticle Catalysts and Formaldehyde or Functional Aldehydes as the Carbon Source

Jianguo Liu et al.

Summary: The study describes the selective N-dimethylation of various functional amines with different functional aldehydes using carbon-supported Ru nanoparticles as a heterogeneous catalyst. This method is highly efficient with good compatibility of various functional groups and shows advantages in terms of operational simplicity, high turnover number, the ready availability of the catalyst, and good functional group compatibility.

Additive-free N-methylation of amines with methanol over supported iridium catalyst

Jing Wang et al.

Summary: A new efficient and versatile Ir/ZnO catalyst was developed for the additive-free N-methylation of amines with methanol. The high catalytic reactivity is attributed to the small sizes of Ir nanoparticles and the high ratio of oxidized iridium species on the catalyst. The selectivity of the catalytic N-methylation can be controlled between dimethylation and monomethylation by adjusting the catalyst loading and reaction solvent.
