Charge transport in mixed metal halide perovskite semiconductors

Satyaprasad P. Senanayak et al.

Summary: Investigation of field-driven charge transport behavior in three-dimensional lead halide perovskites has been challenging due to undesirable ion migration effects and dipolar disorder instabilities. However, field-effect transistors based on methylammonium-free, mixed metal perovskite compositions demonstrate reduced ion migration effects and hysteresis-free p-type transport. The understanding of electronic charge transport in these doped mixed metal halide perovskites will contribute to high-performance optoelectronic devices.

Crystal-Liquid-Glass Transition and Near-Unity Photoluminescence Quantum Yield in Low Melting Point Hybrid Metal Halides

Yu Zhang et al.

Summary: Hybrid metal halides (HMHs) are materials that combine exceptional photophysical properties and excellent processability through solid-liquid transition. This study reports the design and synthesis of zero-dimensional HMHs [M-(DMSO)(6)]-[SbCl6], with an alternating arrangement of isolated octahedra of [M-(DMSO)(6)](3+) and [SbCl6](3-) in the crystal structure. The luminescent center of [SbCl6](3-) enables the generation of self-trapped excitons, resulting in broadband photoluminescence with a large Stokesshift and high quantum yield. The controlled release of DMSO ligands leads to a low melting point of approximately 90 degrees C for HMHs.

Bright and stable perovskite light-emitting diodes in the near-infrared range

Yuqi Sun et al.

Summary: Perovskite LEDs with exceptional performance at high brightness have been achieved by introducing a multifunctional molecule that removes non-radiative regions and suppresses luminescence quenching at the interface. These LEDs show a peak EQE of 23.8% at 33 mA cm(-2) and retain EQEs more than 10% at high current densities of up to 1,000 mA cm(-2). An operational half-lifetime of 32 h at high brightness has been achieved, representing the best stability for perovskite LEDs.

Highly Efficient White-Light Emission Induced by Carboxylic Acid Dimers in a Layered Hybrid Perovskite

Lina Li et al.

Summary: This study reports a metal-halide layered perovskite material that exhibits high quantum yield white-light emission. The unique carboxylic acid dimer structure increases the rigidity of the material, reducing non-radiative recombination and enhancing photoluminescence. This strategy is highly significant in the design of hybrid perovskite materials.

Conjugated Ditertiary Ammonium Templated (100)-Oriented 2D Perovskite with Efficient Broad-Band Emission

Wantian Yang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the addition of an optically active cation can further enhance the PLQY of 2D lead bromide perovskites, attributed to the ultrahigh octahedral distortions. Meanwhile, using a conjugated ligand as a template, 2D perovskites exhibit superior electrical properties compared to alkyl ligands. This work highlights the importance of molecular engineering in enhancing the broad-band emission efficiency of 2D perovskites.

One-Dimensional Organic-Metal Halide with Highly Efficient Warm White-Light Emission and Its Moisture-Induced Structural Transformation

Guicheng Yu et al.

Summary: In this study, an organic-metal halide hybrid with a one-dimensional structure at the molecular level has been reported, showing a record-setting photoluminescence quantum efficiency and high color rendering index as a promising single-component white-light emitter. The experimental observation of photoluminescence quenching and transformation suggests a degradation process involving water-molecule replacement and moisture-induced cleavage of 1D lead halide chains.

Regulating Exciton-Phonon Coupling to Achieve a Near-Unity Photoluminescence Quantum Yield in One-Dimensional Hybrid Metal Halides

Hui Luo et al.

Summary: Through pressure regulation, a nearly 100% photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of broadband emission is achieved in a corrugated 1D hybrid metal halide C5N2H16Pb2Br6 with a highly distorted structure, initially having a PLQY of 10%. Compression reduces the overlap between STE states and ground state, leading to a suppressed phonon-assisted non-radiative decay. The pressure-regulated exciton-phonon coupling, quantified using the Huang-Rhys factor S, systematically controls the PL evolution.
