Quality control strategies of medicine food homology materials based on fingerprint profiling and chemometrics: Citri Reticulata Pericarpium as an example

Summary: The study developed a reliable and feasible strategy for the comprehensive quality control of medicine food homology materials (MFHM). By applying comprehensive quantified fingerprint method (CQFM), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprints and Fourier transform mid-infrared (FT-MIR) quantized fingerprints were successfully developed to comprehensively evaluate the overall quality of Citri Reticulata Peri-carpium (CRP). The results showed that the developed methods had good discrimination ability and could accurately distinguish and predict the storage period of CRP, providing a reliable and scientific reference scheme for the future quality control of MFHM.

Benzophenoxazine-based colorimetric and fluorescent probe for highly sensitive detection of amines and food freshness

Summary: In this study, a chromogenic and near infrared (NIR) region fluorogenic dual-channel probe NRB was developed for visual detection of gaseous amines. The probe exhibited a wide fluorescent emission band in the NIR region with a peak at 615 nm when stimulated by the target compound. The sensing mechanism was confirmed to be a nucleophilic substitution reaction rather than ester hydrolysis. Furthermore, the probe showed potential for real-time monitoring of food freshness and remained stable during the quality guarantee period for perishable packaged food.
