Enhanced photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B and malachite green employing BiFeO3/g-C3N4 nanocomposites: An efficient visible-light photocatalyst

Lopamudra Mohanty et al.

Summary: A simple sonication technique was used to synthesize g-C3N4 nanoparticle decorated with BiFeO3. Various techniques were used to analyze the structural and optical characteristics of BiFeO3/g-C3N4 composites. The synthesized composite exhibited exceptional photocatalytic activity, attributed to the separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs caused by charge migration. A possible photocatalytic process for dye degradation was proposed.

Preparation, suppressed the charge carriers recombination, and improved photocatalytic performance of g-C3N4/MoS2 p-n heterojunction photocatalyst for tetracycline and dyes degradation upon visible light

Yan Cao et al.

Summary: This study aims to enhance the photocatalytic performance of g-C3N4 by constructing a p-n heterojunction with MoS2 semiconductor. The physicochemical properties and catalytic activity improvement were evaluated through various characterizations and tests. The g-C3N4/MoS2 nanocomposite showed higher degradation efficiency of dye contaminants under visible light due to its planar structure, improved visible spectrum absorption, high specific surface area, and p-n heterojunction construction.

Aspects of structural, optical properties, and relaxation in (BiFeO3 or NaTiO3)-PMMA: Hybrid films for dielectric applications

Adel M. El Sayed

Summary: Perovskite-polymer hybrids, prepared by mixing nano-sized BiFeO3 and NaTiO3 with PMMA through solution casting, exhibit improved physical properties and flexibility suitable for various electric and optoelectronic applications. Characterization techniques like X-ray diffraction, FTIR, and SEM-EDS were used to evaluate the structural properties, interactions, and thickness of the composite films. The incorporation of nano-fillers narrowed the optical bandgap while maintaining high transmittance, making these composite films suitable for thin film capacitors and bio-engineering systems.

Fumaric Acid Assistant Band Structure Tunable Nitrogen Defective g-C3N4 Fabrication for Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

Tao Yu et al.

Summary: Nitrogen defective g-C3N4 with enhanced electron content and stronger H2O molecule adsorption capacity was successfully fabricated through one-pot thermal polymerization of urea and fumaric acid. The formation of nitrogen defects was attributed to the reaction between the carboxyl group of fumaric acid and the amino group of urea. The changes in band structures led to improved visible light absorption, efficient charge separation, and increased hydrogen evolution driving force.
