Determining the gluonic gravitational form factors of the proton

B. Duran et al.

Summary: The proton, composed of quarks and gluons, is one of the fundamental building blocks of visible matter in the Universe. Previous research focused on the electric charge radius of the proton, while little was known about the mass density dominated by gluons. This study investigated the gravitational density of gluons using a small color dipole and determined the gluonic gravitational form factors of the proton. The results showed a notably smaller mass radius than the electric charge radius, and in some cases, the determined radius agreed well with theoretical predictions.

Near threshold heavy quarkonium photoproduction at large momentum transfer

Peng Sun et al.

Summary: Perturbative QCD method is used to study the photoproduction of near threshold heavy quarkonium with large momentum transfer. The study considers the contributions from the leading three-quark Fock states of the nucleon, where the three-quark Fock state with one unit quark orbital angular momentum is found to dominate at the threshold. The study also shows that there is no direct connection between the near threshold heavy quarkonium photoproduction and the gluonic gravitational form factors without additional approximation. Predictions for psi' and Upsilon (1S,2S) states are made based on the comparison between the results and recent GlueX data, which can be tested in future experiments.

Gluon gravitational form factors at large momentum transfer

Xuan-Bo Tong et al.

Summary: In this study, perturbative QCD analysis was conducted on the gluonic gravitational form factors (GFFs) of the proton and pion at large momentum transfer, revealing scaling behavior with respect to the momentum transfer. The explicit factorization formula of the GFFs in terms of distribution amplitudes of hadrons was derived, offering a unique perspective on the momentum dependence of the GFFs and improving understanding of the internal pressure distributions of hadrons.

Transition distribution amplitudes and hard exclusive reactions with baryon number transfer

B. Pire et al.

Summary: This article discusses the general properties and physical interpretation of baryon-to-meson and baryon-to-photon transition distribution amplitudes (TDAs), suggesting that these non-perturbative objects are a convenient tool to explore baryon structure at the partonic level. It also provides an overview of hard exclusive reactions and explores experimental opportunities at various facilities.

φ-meson lepto-production near threshold and the strangeness D-term

Yoshitaka Hatta et al.

Summary: The study presents a model of exclusive phi-meson leptoproduction ep -> e'p'phi near threshold, emphasizing the strangeness gravitational form factors of the proton. It argues that the shape of the differential cross section d sigma/dt serves as a sensitive probe of the strangeness D-term of the proton.

Electroproduction of heavy vector mesons using holographic QCD: From near threshold to high energy regimes

Kiminad A. Mamo et al.

Summary: In this study, a nonperturbative analysis of the electroproduction of heavy vector mesons (phi, J/Psi) using the holographic construction and Witten diagrams was conducted. The results demonstrate a good agreement with HERA data for J/Psi electroproduction at low and intermediate Q(2), as well as predict quasi-electroproduction of J/Psi near threshold.

Mass radius of the proton

Dmitri E. Kharzeev

Summary: The mass radius of the proton was determined using the form factor of the trace of the energy-momentum tensor of QCD, with a resulting value of Rm = 0.55 +/- 0.03 fm. This value was found to be significantly smaller than the charge radius of the proton, with the difference attributed to the effects of asymptotic freedom and spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry in QCD. Future measurements are needed to further refine the determination of the mass radius.

Mass structure of hadrons and light-front sum rules in the ′t Hooft model

Xiangdong Ji et al.

Summary: The study investigates the mass/energy structure of bound states of hadrons in two-dimensional quantum chromodynamics in the large number of color limit ('t Hooft model). It reveals that masses are related to matrix elements of scalar charge and Coulomb energy, and derives light-front sum rules expressed in terms of light-front wave functions. Additionally, the research considers the result for massless Goldstone bosons and the structure of gravitational form factors in bound meson states.

QCD analysis of near-threshold photon-proton production of heavy quarkonium

Yuxun Guo et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the near-threshold photo or electroproduction of heavy vector quarkonium off the proton, showing that the threshold kinematics has a large skewness parameter xi, leading to the dominance of the spin2 contribution. Threshold production data are useful to extract gluonic gravitational form factors and study gluonic contributions to various properties in the proton. The research uses recent GlueX data on J/Psi photoproduction to demonstrate the potential physics impact of high-precision data from future Jefferson Laboratory 12 GeV and Electron-Ion Collider physics program.

Nucleon mass radii and distribution: Holographic QCD, lattice QCD, and GlueX data

Kiminad A. Mamo et al.

Summary: The paper reviews the invariant A, B, D gravitational form factors of the nucleon in holographic QCD and compares them with gluonic gravitational form factors measured using lattice QCD simulations. The holographic A-term is related to the tensor Regge trajectory, while the D-term is determined by differences in Regge trajectories between gravitons and dilatons. The B-term is nonexistent without a tensor coupling to a Dirac fermion in bulk. The tensor form factor A-term can already be measured using GlueX data, providing insight into the properties of gluons inside the proton.

Extraction of the proton mass radius from the vector meson photoproductions near thresholds

Rong Wang et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the proton mass radius by looking at the t dependence of differential cross sections of vector meson photoproductions near thresholds. By assuming a dipole form for the scalar form factor, the proton mass radius is determined using near-threshold photoproduction data of J/psi, phi, and omega vector mesons, with an estimated average value of 0.67 +/- 0.03 fm.
