High-linearity, ultralow-detection-limit, and rapid-response strain sensing yarn for data gloves

Fei Huang et al.

Summary: In this study, a highly flexible, stretchable, and sensitive silver nanoparticles/double covered yarn (AgNPs/DCY) composite yarn is proposed as a strain sensor, which achieves a broad strain sensing range, ultralow detection limit, high linear sensitivity, instant response time, and high repeatability. By integrating the composite yarn into textile data gloves, real-time monitoring of finger movements and effective recognition of sign languages can be achieved.

Wearable hydroxylated MWCNTs/ecoflex composite strain sensor with high comprehensive performance based on electron irradiation

Xiaoqing Yue et al.

Summary: In this study, electron irradiation was used as a novel and simple method to fabricate wearable strain sensors with high comprehensive performance. The sensors, made by uniformly adsorbing hydroxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes on etched ecoflex and then irradiating them, exhibited ultra-low detection limit, fast response, and wide sensing range. The irradiated sensors showed significantly improved performance compared to the unirradiated sensors.

Ultrastretchable and wearable conductive multifilament enabled by buckled polypyrrole structure in parallel

Yimeng Li et al.

Summary: This research addresses the challenge of achieving strain-insensitive conductivity in stretchable conductive fibers by using a conductive and elastic multifilament made of polyurethane monofilaments coated with buckled polypyrrole (PPy). The resulting parallel conductive monofilaments maintain their conductivity even under large deformation, making them suitable for wearable electronic devices.
