Time-optimal and Smooth Trajectory Planning for Robot Manipulators

Tie Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a time-optimal and smooth trajectory planning algorithm based on the dynamics model for robot manipulators. The algorithm dynamically selects optimal trajectory parameters and uses input shaping technique for achieving smooth trajectory, significantly improving the robot's motion speed. The experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm on a six-degree-of-freedom industrial robot.

Cartesian trajectory planning of space robots using a multi-objective optimization

Rongyu Jin et al.

Summary: This paper presents a method to avoid dynamic singularities in Cartesian trajectory planning of a space robot by combining Damped Least Squares and feedback compensation. The trajectories of the end-effector are parameterized with Bezier curves and the planning is transformed into a multi-objective optimization considering base attitude disturbance and moving time. Chaotic particle swarm optimization is employed to solve the optimization, demonstrating effectiveness in simulation results for a 6 DOF space robot.

A Force/Motion Control Approach Based on Trajectory Planning for Industrial Robots With Closed Control Architecture

Alejandro Gutierrez-Giles et al.

Summary: Most industrial robots come with closed control architecture, prohibiting users from modifying the controller or implementing novel algorithms. An open control architecture is necessary for this purpose, especially for DC motor actuators with large gear reduction ratios. This approach allows simultaneous tracking of position and force trajectories without physically modifying the closed control architecture.
