Novel incorporation of redox active organic molecule with activated carbon as efficient active material of supercapacitors

Tsung-Rong Kuo et al.

Summary: In this study, a 1,4 benzene diboronic acid (DBA) and activated carbon (AC) composite (DBA-AC) was fabricated as the active material for supercapacitors. By optimizing the ratio of DBA and AC, the electrode showed high specific capacitance, large surface area, and abundant functional groups. A flexible symmetric supercapacitor based on the optimized DBA-AC electrodes exhibited high energy density, good CF retention, and high Coulombic efficiency.

A general approach to the fabrication of Sn-doped TiO2 nanotube arrays with titanium vacancies for supercapacitors

Qianqian Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel approach to realize metal doping in TiO2 nanotube arrays (NTAs) was reported by using low-melting-point metals as dopant sources. The resulting Sn-doped TiO2 NTAs showed structural defects of Ti vacancies and exhibited enhanced supercapacitive performances. The doping methodology presented here differs conceptually from previous works and offers a simpler and more effective technique for metal doping of TiO2 NTAs.

Facile synthesis of CNTs@TiO2 composites by solvothermal reaction for high-rate and long-life lithium-ion batteries

Shuo Zhao et al.

Summary: Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs)@TiO2 composites were successfully prepared via solvothermal process, with glycerol playing a crucial role. As the content of CNTs in the composites increased, the surface areas increased and the TiO2 layer became more uniform. The composites showed excellent high-rate performance and cyclic stability due to the rapid conductive network formed by CNTs and the contribution from pseudocapacitance.

Redox active organic molecule-Emodin modified graphene for high-performance supercapacitors

Lijie Hou et al.

Summary: Emodin, a natural anthraquinone derivative with high redox activity, was anchored on graphene sheet to form a composite electrode material with high specific capacitance. An asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) was fabricated using this material, achieving high energy density and power density, capable of lighting up a LED. The good matching of positive and negative electrode materials in the supercapacitor greatly enhances its capacitive performance.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized and characterized IP-TiO2 and Ag@IP-TiO2, and investigated their photocatalytic performance through visible-light degradation of antibiotics. The results demonstrate that surface modification by Ag nanoparticles enhances the visible-light absorption and reduces the recombination rate of photogenerated electrons and holes in IP-TiO2, leading to the enhanced photocatalytic performance of Ag@IP-TiO2.
