Photochromic Polyoxoniobates with Photoinduced D-f-A Electron Transfer Mechanism

Hao Yu et al.

Summary: In this work, organophosphate and lanthanide cluster were successfully integrated into polyoxoniobates (PONbs) to create the first family of inorganic-organic hybrid organophosphate-Ln-PONb composite clusters. These novel species not only exhibit the redox activity of PONbs that can form long-lived heteropoly blues under ambient conditions, but also possess photochromic properties. The discovery of a D-f-A electron transfer mechanism through the analysis of electronic configurations and photochromic properties opens up possibilities for developing diverse PONb-based redox materials and expanding the applications of PONbs in redox chemistry.

Structural and Transport Properties of E-Beam Sintered Lanthanide Tungstates and Tungstates-Molybdates

Vladislav Sadykov et al.

Summary: Lanthanide tungstates and molybdates have high protonic conductivity and show promise as materials for hydrogen separation membranes. This study investigates the effect of radiation thermal sintering on the structural and transport properties of (Nd,Ln)(5.5)(W,Mo)O11.25-delta materials. The results reveal that the defect fluorite structure is preserved during radiation thermal sintering at 1100 degrees C, and the samples exhibit high proton conductivity and oxygen mobility. Residual porosity can be reduced by adding sintering aids or metal alloys nanoparticles during membrane preparation.

Capture and Separation of SO2 Traces in Metal-Organic Frameworks via Pre-Synthetic Pore Environment Tailoring by Methyl Groups

Shanghua Xing et al.

Summary: In this study, a pre-synthetic pore environment design strategy was utilized to create stable methyl-functionalized metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for enhanced low pressure SO2 adsorption and separation from CO2. The key role of increasing methyl group densities at the benzenedicarboxylate linker in optimizing pore size was demonstrated for the first time. Various methods, including gas sorption isotherms, theoretical calculations, simulations, and DFT calculations, were used to validate the SO2 separation potential of methyl-functionalized MOFs.
