Hydrogen sulfide gas sensing toward on-site monitoring of chilled meat spoilage based on ratio-type fluorescent probe

Xiaowei Huang et al.

Summary: In this study, a fluorescence sensing platform based on ratiometric fluorescent substances was developed for real-time monitoring of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) during meat spoilage. By loading the fluorescence materials onto a paper base and processing the RGB values of the photo, the sensor can detect H2S gas in low concentrations, simplifying the detection process while ensuring stability and sensitivity. This provides a new method for H2S detection during meat storage.

Ultrasensitive Temperature Sensing Based on Ligand-Free Alloyed CsPbClxBr3-x Perovskite Nanocrystals Confined in Hollow Mesoporous Silica with High Density of Halide Vacancies

Yipeng Huang et al.

Summary: Temperature sensing using fluorescent semiconductor nanocrystals, particularly lead halide perovskite nanocrystals, has attracted significant attention. This study demonstrates a novel approach to achieve ultra-sensitive temperature sensing by fabricating highly defective yet fluorescent CsPbCl1.2Br1.8 nanocrystals confined in hollow mesoporous silica. The integration of thermal-sensitive nanocrystals and thermal-insensitive phosphors shows promising results in ratiometric temperature sensing, with potential applications in monitoring body temperature.
