Stability and degradation of four agricultural wastes liquefied polyols based polyurethane foams

Jingmiao Zhang et al.

Summary: Bio-based polyurethane foam, with its environmental friendliness and wide range of raw materials, has attracted increasing attention. In this study, agricultural waste-based polyols were used to prepare polyurethane foams, and their stability and degradation properties were investigated. The results showed that these bio-based foams exhibited excellent thermal stability, stability in water, degradability in soil, and elastic ability, making them potentially suitable for insulation, degradable plastics, and elastomers applications.

Bio-Based Polyurethane Networks Derived from Liquefied Sawdust

Kamila Gosz et al.

Summary: The study investigated the liquefaction of forestry waste to produce bio-polyols that could potentially substitute petrochemical polyols. Further analysis indicated high biomass conversion and the potential of bio-polyols as green alternatives. The optimal liquefaction temperature was found to be 150 degrees C for 6 hours, showing promising results for sustainable polyurethane resin production.

Preparation and Evaluation of Epoxy Resin Prepared from the Liquefied Product of Cotton Stalk

Nuerjiamali Tuohedi et al.

Summary: The study focuses on preparing bio-based epoxy resins from liquefied cotton stalk by glycidyl etherification and examining their impact on the performance of copolymerized epoxy resin. Results show that adding cotton-stalk-based epoxy resin increases the peak temperature of Epon 828 resin, while decreasing the heat of curing and activation energy.
