Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) are advantageous in terms of safety, environmental friendliness, and large theoretical capacity. In this study, the use of VS4 nanosheets as cathode electrodes achieved excellent discharge capacity and rate performance.
At present, lithium-ion batteries are widely used in many aspects in mankind society, but considering the cost and safety factors, aqueous multivalent ion batteries are much suitable for large-scale applications. Among them, aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) possess the advantages of high safety, environmental friendliness and large theoretical capacity. In this work, we prepare VS4 nanosheets as cathode electrodes for zinc-ion batteries. The assembled batteries achieve an excellent discharge capacity and rate performance in 3 M Zn (CF3SO3)(2) electrolyte. It presents a reversible capacity of 225.43 mAh g (-1) at 0.5 A g (-1). In addition, it still can maintain a capacity retention rate of 81% after 700 cycles at 5 A g(-1).
