Photons from dark photon solitons via parametric resonance

Mustafa A. Amin et al.

Summary: In this research, the interaction between dark photons and photons is considered, and the electromagnetic radiation generated from an isolated vector soliton due to resonant amplification of the ambient electromagnetic field is studied. The directional dependence and polarization of the outgoing radiation are characterized, which depend on the operator and the polarization state of the underlying vector soliton.

Lessons for adaptive mesh refinement in numerical relativity

Miren Radia et al.

Summary: This paper demonstrates the flexibility and utility of the Berger-Rigoutsos adaptive mesh refinement algorithm in GRChombo for generating binary black hole waveforms and studying non-trivial matter configurations. Through a comparison with the Lean code, it shows that high-quality waveforms can be produced, and discusses the technical challenges of using full AMR.

Gauge-field production during axion inflation in the gradient expansion formalism

E. V. Gorbar et al.

Summary: This study investigates the explosive production of gauge fields during axion inflation using a novel gradient expansion formalism. By considering the backreaction of the produced gauge fields and the Schwinger pair production of charged particles in a strong gauge-field background, it is shown that the Schwinger effect can suppress gauge-field production to prevent backreaction. Additionally, the induced current is found to dampen Bunch-Davies vacuum fluctuations deep inside the Hubble horizon.

New insights into the formation and growth of boson stars in dark matter halos

Jiajun Chen et al.

Summary: This study investigates the formation and growth of boson stars and their surrounding miniclusters through gravitational condensation using nonlinear dynamical numerical methods, considering attractive and repulsive self-interactions. Strong attractive self-interactions can cause instability and collapse of boson stars, while repulsive self-interactions promote their formation and result in solutions with larger radii.
