Quasi-LD-Targeted and ONOO--Responsive Fluorescent Probe for Investigating the Interaction of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver with Drug- Induced Liver Injury

Nannan Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a fluorescent probe MBDP-Py+ was constructed and screened to investigate the interaction between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and drug-induced liver injury (DILI). MBDP-Py+ was more sensitive and efficient than tissue staining and serum markers detection in evaluating the early toxicity of NAFLD and diagnosing anticancer-DILI. The sensitive enhancement of fluorescence signals demonstrated that the dominant element of liver injury was different in NAFLD combined with DILI mice models at different stages of NAFLD, and the synergistic effect of the two led to more serious liver damage as the degree of NAFLD deepened.

Rapid Two-Photon Fluorescence Imaging of Monoamine Oxidase B for Diagnosis of Early-Stage Liver Fibrosis in Mice

Nannan Fan et al.

Summary: This study established a two-photon fluorescence imaging method for in vivo detection of MAO-B activity using a simply prepared probe, BiPhAA. The platform is more rapid than other current detection methods, allowing dynamic observation of endogenous MAO-B level changes in hepatic stellate cells. The BiPhAA-based imaging platform successfully distinguished mice with liver fibrosis from normal mice by showing six times higher fluorescence brightness in the liver tissue of fibrosis mice.

Dynamic evaluation of the protective effect of Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide on acute alcoholic liver injury mice in vitro and in vivo by NIR fluorescence imaging

Gang Nie et al.

Summary: Acute alcoholic liver injury (AALI) poses a threat to human health, and Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide (DOP) may protect the liver by maintaining the balance of the anti-oxidative system, although further research is needed. Near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging technique was used to dynamically evaluate the effect of DOP on AALI mice, showing that it can maintain the relative balance of glutathione content in the liver.

Enzyme-activated near-infrared fluorogenic probe with high-efficiency intrahepatic targeting ability for visualization of drug-induced liver injury

Yong Zhang et al.

Summary: Hepatotoxicity is a serious issue in clinical drugs, and liver injury caused by chronic administration or overdose has become a major biosafety concern. Currently used near-infrared fluorescent probes for liver injury detection face issues with poor liver targeting ability and low sensitivity. An enzyme-activated fluorogenic probe with strong in situ targeting ability is crucial for improving liver injury imaging.
