An anisotropic version of Tolman VII solution in f(R, T) gravity via gravitational decoupling MGD approach

Hina Azmat et al.

Summary: In this work, an anisotropic version of the well-known Tolman VII isotropic solution was developed using the gravitational decoupling by minimal geometric deformation (MGD) approach in f(R, T) gravity framework. The field equations were separated into sections for f(R, T) and the additional source phi ij. The viability of the solution was checked by considering observational data of three compact star models and discussing thermodynamical properties analytically and graphically.

Classical and quantum gravity with fractional operators

Gianluca Calcagni

Summary: In this work, a class of perturbative theories of quantum gravity based on fractional operators is proposed, with the construction of classical actions and derivation of equations of motion for each theory. The study shows that unitarity and power-counting renormalizability do not coexist in these theories, although one-loop unitarity and finiteness are possible in some cases. One of the theories is found to be unitary and infrared-finite, serving as a ghost-free model with large-scale modifications of general relativity.

Prospecting black hole thermodynamics with fractional quantum mechanics

S. Jalalzadeh et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the potential broadening of our perspective on black hole thermodynamics through the framework of fractional quantum mechanics, focusing on a Schwarzschild configuration. The study found that alterations in specific observables, such as black hole mass spectrum, temperature, and entropy, are conveyed through a fractional parameter, alpha, with standard results recovered under certain limits. Additionally, the generalized entropy-area relation proposed by Tsallis, Cirto, and Barrow is discussed in terms of a fractional viewpoint.
