Feeder routing for air-to-air refueling operations

Christoph Hansknecht et al.

Summary: With the increasing air traffic volume, there is a significant environmental impact due to carbon emissions. Introducing en route air-to-air refueling is a promising approach to reduce this impact. In addition to aircraft design, the key challenge lies in planning the refueling operation to minimize fuel burn of the feeder fleet. This paper presents an IP-based method supported by an ODE model to solve the air-to-air refueling problem, with the algorithmic key being the separation of finding routes for cruisers and assigning routes to individual feeders.

A time sensitive graph model for conflict resolution with application to international air carbon negotiation

Shawei He

Summary: The uneven time required for decision making by negotiators can greatly affect the results of international negotiations. A novel time sensitive graph model is developed to analyze this situation, and propositions are provided to indicate the impact of action time on equilibrium.

Producer's choice of design-for-environment under environmental taxation *

Ya-Jun Cai et al.

Summary: The concept of Design for Environment (DfE) is becoming increasingly important for sustainable operations, and the use of an environmental tax can enhance DfE by reducing wastes, improving environmental performance, and maximizing social welfare. Different forms of environmental taxes have varying effects on promoting sustainable product design, with the linear tax being the most effective in balancing the DfE level, stakeholders' benefits, and social welfare performance.

Evolutionary behaviors regarding pricing and payment-convenience strategies with uncertain risk

Maryam Johari et al.

Summary: This study develops an analytical model using evolutionary game theory to investigate the pricing and credit time strategies of pharma-distributors for demand promotion in the long term. The research finds that the credit time option, when considering uncertain default risk, is the evolutionary stable strategy for pharma-distributors in the long term, and in intense competition, pharma-distributors tend to prefer the credit time scheme over pricing strategies.
