Krylov subspace iterative methods for time domain equivalent sources method based nearfield acoustical holography

Nicolas P. Valdivia

Summary: This paper examines the acoustic field reconstruction on a vibrating surface of arbitrary shape through the time-domain equivalent source method (ESM) and near-field acoustic holography (NAH) based on measurements from a conformal surface nearby. The study shows that ESM serves as an extension to classical integral theory, providing an efficient solution using Krylov subspace iterative methods. Combining heuristic stopping rules and statistical analysis with multiple samples validates the proposed methodology for reconstruction.

Group Dictionary Equivalent Source Method for Sparse Nearfield Acoustic Holography

Riccardo R. De Lucia et al.

Summary: In this article, a new methodology is proposed for the non-invasive estimation of the geometry of the vibration modes of a vibrating structure using signals captured by a microphone array placed close to the structure. The approach is based on an efficient formulation of the Nearfield Acoustic Holography (NAH) problem, using a small set of equivalent sources to represent the continuous vibrating structure. A Group Dictionary Equivalent Sources Method is developed, combining the efficiency and flexibility of equivalent sources and taking into account prior knowledge about the mechanical behavior of the object obtained through FEA.

Sparsity-enhanced equivalent source method for acoustic source reconstruction via the Generalized Minimax-Concave penalty

Ran Wang et al.

Summary: The Equivalent Source Method (ESM) utilizes regularization techniques for acoustic source reconstruction to enhance spatial resolution, with sparse regularization being a key method. A sparsity-enhanced ESM is proposed in this study, introducing a nonconvex GMC penalty to improve sparsity and maintain convexity in the objective function. Implementation of the ADMM computation framework allows for rapid and accurate acoustic source reconstruction.
