Integrated analysis of transcriptome and metabolome revealed biological basis of sows from estrus to lactation

Lijun Shi et al.

Summary: Understanding the molecular mechanisms of sow pregnancy development is crucial for genetic improvement of pig breeding traits and provides resources for biomedical research on human pregnancy diseases. However, there is a lack of transcriptome and metabolome data across different stages of sow pregnancy. In this study, we analyzed 84 RNA sequencing and 42 metabolome datasets from pig blood samples across six developmental stages. The findings revealed the sequence features, stage-specific molecules, expression patterns, regulatory mechanisms, and important pregnancy-related metabolites in both pigs and humans. These results are expected to contribute essential resources for pig breeding and biomedical research on human pregnancy diseases.

Yunhua Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that the expression of the GmPUB21 gene was significantly up-regulated in response to drought, salinity, and ABA treatments. Overexpression of GmPUB21 made plants more sensitive to osmotic, salinity stress, and ABA, while silencing of GmPUB21 enhanced the tolerance to drought and salinity stresses.

Polydatin, a Glycoside of Resveratrol, Induces Apoptosis and Inhibits Metastasis Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cells In Vitro

Tae-Hyun Bang et al.

Summary: Polydatin, a natural precursor of resveratrol, has shown potential in inducing apoptosis and inhibiting cell migration and invasion in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) by regulating EMT-related factors. It decreases cell survival and proliferation rates, induces release of cytochrome c and fragmentation of apoptosis-related factors, and also induces autophagy in OSCC cells. Additionally, it inhibits cell migration and invasion by modulating the expression of EMT-related factors. These findings suggest that polydatin could be a promising treatment option for oral cancer.
