Magnetofluidic mixing of a ferrofluid droplet under the influence of a time-dependent external field

Sudip Shyam et al.

Summary: Experimental investigations were conducted on the mixing of a ferrofluid droplet with a non-magnetic miscible fluid in the presence of a time-dependent magnetic field on an open surface microfluidic platform. It was found that the movement of magnetic nanoparticles inside the ferrofluid droplet domain strengthens flow instability and promotes mixing efficiency.

Deformation of soap bubbles in uniform electric fields

S. Mawet et al.

Summary: This study investigated the deformation of hemispherical bubbles under vertical static electric fields using a plane capacitor. The influence of the electric field amplitude and initial volume of the bubbles on deformation and shape was monitored. It was found that the number of interfaces is a key parameter that determines the shape of the bubbles.
