Capacitance-Voltage Investigation of Encapsulated Graphene/Silicon Solar Cells

I. Matacena et al.

Summary: This article investigates the effect of graphene/silicon Schottky junction solar cells (G/Si SJSCs) encapsulation by analyzing the capacitance-voltage (C-V) curves in the forward bias region. The detection of a double peak on the C-V curve indicates nonuniform interface properties at the graphene/silicon interface. The use of HNO $_{\text{3}}$ doping and encapsulation is explored to passivate the interface and maintain stable capacitance behavior over time.

The role of oxygen defects engineering via passivation of the Al2O3 interfacial layer for the direct growth of a graphene-silicon Schottky junction solar cell

Minjae Kim et al.

Summary: Graphene-based solar cells using a metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) junction face challenges in long-term stability, surface recombination, and defects. A method for interfacial passivation of Al2O3 with NH3 or H2O2, and co-passivation with NH3 and H2O2, has been developed to minimize surface recombination. The co-passivated Al2O3 layer enhances the growth of graphene and improves solar cell performance, leading to a significant efficiency enhancement.
